"Sets The Standard for the W Brand"
One thing I've always found interesting about the W brand is the variability in quality depending on which city you're staying in. There have been some properties (looking directly at you, W Seattle and W New York-Times Square), where the building is old and run down, and basically looks like it was just bought and someone decided to slap a fat W logo on it, dim down the lights, and add some splashes of blue and red lights. Then there are others where, while the building itself is attractive, the staff act like they're the ones doing you a favor by allowing you to grace their presence (ahem, W Scottsdale). The W Bangkok, however, gets *everything* right, and after staying here, I believe it's the perfect embodiment that other properties of this brand should strive for. I truly think that when Starwood first launched this brand in 1998, this is the aesthetic they were going for. The hotel just hits every mark. First, I would be remiss not to mention the striking design. It really is unlike any other hotel in Bangkok. Yes, it's very flashy, but not tacky and overwhelming; rather, it's interesting with charismatic and curious touches you'll find throughout your stay. The hotel has won numerous worldwide hotel design awards, and after staying here, it's easy to see why. On top of that, unlike a lot of other W hotels, that were basically conversions or remodels of older hotels, nothing feels cheap in the rooms. All amenities look and feel top notch. The actual location of the hotel is great. It's located in a nice, upscale area of Bangkok, where you're never further than a 10-15 minute Uber ride away from anywhere, and though I never took it (because Uber is so cheap), the BTS is very close. There is a lot of high end dining in the area (including L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon) and the hotel's very own House on Sathorn, which sadly I didn't get to visit given it's ranking as one of the best in Asia. As far as service, the staff here are simply great, and go above and beyond to make sure you have a wonderful experience. As soon as you arrive, there are doormen ready to take your bags (and the same applies when you leave), and the check-in process was fast and efficient. To me, service is all about detail, and one that particularly stood out to me occurred on our last day. We were already checked out and waiting on an Uber to take us to the airport, when I realized I had forgotten my electric toothbrush. Most places upon hearing this would have you run up and grab it yourself. Instead, a member of the staff insisted that they themselves run up and grab it, saving me the hassle. Telephones were always answered immediately, with no wait time, and service was always provided in a deferential and friendly manner. Although I thought the room service menu was a little pricey for Thailand, I can say that the food selection was extensive and everything we had was delicious. One final point, the pool and spa are absolutely great. Loved the futuristic design of the pool and its view overlooking the city, and the spa truly feels like a retreat unto itself - quiet, subdued lights, and very relaxing with luxury locker facilities, a steamroom and showers. All in all, I left very impressed with this property, and would not hesitate to stay here again. Highly recommended.
it is easy to go the center of bkk because it's very close the skytrain, the room is very wide and big. i like the glitter boxing pillow and toilet , and i want to recommend the service of staff, every staff is enthusiastic to serve, tono at concierge, the one lady at TKT i couldn't remember, breakfast is very excellent, no word to say all things are perfect.
"Good Location, Great Atmosphere, Great Nightlife!!"
Opinions vary right :) Well, here is mine, take it for what it is worth, but you should find this review very valuable if your American. And, maybe from another country too :) First Impression, coming in at night, was that of a hip (20's - 30's) range atmosphere. The doorman, at arrival were superb and very friendly. Throughout my stay, this never changed. First class individuals providing first class service :) Then, the Big "W" door opens. The latest music plays throughout the lobby in a non traditional and modern style open environment nightclub to the left and as you check in. For those sensitive to the loud music, your too old :) You are greeted by friendly, English speaking staff, who are always at 5star level service. Your wish, is their command :) Your off to the elevator to your room. Always greeted by friendly and with prayer hands, elevator attendants. Elevator doors open, and you walk down the hall to a corner suite on the 24th floor. Passing modern deco and futuristic themed doors. The easy access key card opens your room. Elegant, Clean, and the view was very nice. There was a very comfortable bed with clean, fresh, and inviting linens. There was a well stocked mini bar with a few snacks at your fingertips. And, if that did not satisfy a King, then the great room service was sure to deliver a Kings delicious food in 30 minutes or less promptly every time. Overall, a great choice. You cannot make a mistake by choosing this Hotel. It is central to the Train, just a short walk down the street. Has a very nice gym with everything that you could need for a good workout while on vacation. The pool was inviting and relaxing and one of the top pools in Bangkok. And, last, but not least, if your a person doing business, being in the Financial / Business District of Bangkok, then the W is also going to appeal to you :) I will definitely stay here again and look forward to planning the next trip back. Calling the W my home :)
"Cool hotel with poor service"
Just one night stay in W Bangkok, hotel is cool, but staffs are cold. Just travel from other city in Thailand, the feeling is totally different. No smile, service like a robot. The staff in woobar treat asia people different as western people. I have asked taxi after check out, i have double confirmed price with doorman and request a meter taxi, i got the answer is this is meter taxi and the price around 500b total, however after i arrived airport, driver ask 770b from me, when i ask a receipt, he just hand write a paper with a price to me and give me a discount price 700b in final. Not sure your doorman have special business with driver or not.
Everything was so good especially the excellent service that provide by Guest Relations (PIM, MO, MILK, CHOEY and team) to make my memorable stay and Concierge team that lead by Mr. Tong the Chief Concierge. I wanna say A BIG THANK YOU to all of the team. Will come back again when I go back to BKK.
