"Always awesome at W"
I love W because every property is consistently fun, well designed, very functional and comfortable. Definite value for the price. I especially love the bar and DJ's at the Boston W on the weekends!!!
"Pretty good, Business-friendly"
All in all, I've had fairly good experiences at this W. It is new and modern, and the style is perhaps less controversial or peculiar than other W hotels. Nothing about my stays was special, but nothing was poor, either, and the rooms are big enough to offset other minor deficiencies.
"Not suitable for business travel"
We had the misfortune of staying at the W this weekend. We've stayed in the past without an issue, but this weekend the hotel apparently sponsored a large party that made our floor intolerably loud. We could hear a DJ, people screaming and management was indifferent a the time was early evening. We had a group at the 4 Seasons where we had to move to make phone calls. The Hotel seems run by indifferent, star-struck adolescents. If you need assurances of being able to sleep or work then go to the 4 Seasons.
We stayed here to celebrate our anniversary and asked for a quiet room. They put us on the 8th floor, telling us this was a quieter room than the one they originally had us in. Ok initially grateful for that. The person at the front desk proceeded to tell us that there is noise out front until midnight due to the partiers from the clubs in both the W Hotel and several other ones around. But he said the noise would be gone after that. Not so bad we thought. We get back to our room after a nice anniversary dinner, and the thumping, screaming, honking and insanity went on until 3am. We called the front desk at 3am and they said "it's hard to get these people out of there, but the police were doing their best." Unbelievable. And this goes on every weekend night apparently!!!! And it's right in the valet parking lane of the hotel, and on entire sidewalk the whole block long in front of the hotel. So we were purposely misled by the person at the front desk and even being on the eighth floor did not get us any quiet. We complained again to the front desk on check out the next morning and the manager said she didn't know why the person the night before would say that the noise ended at midnight. Totally unacceptable and do not stay here if you want to sleep.
"Nice but loud!!"
This is a lovely hotel, would have given it 5* if it was in a better location. Found the staff to be really nice and helpful. We were on the 9th floor and we're quite surprised that it was still really noisy outside and they have a DJ on the weekends. Thought the rooms were great, bed not very comfortable and could do with changing the pillows. Biggest bugbear was size of towels...come on guys we're not all a size 0!!! Towels a little bigger please. Great for the Theatre district and centre of Boston. Would definitely stay there again, but if your a light sleeper, wouldn't recommend it!!
