"Wonderful, "Wonderful" Room"
We were in DC for a few days and spent two nights here at the W. We booked a Wonderful room. I have to say that it very much exceeded our expectations. The location of the property could not be better. The front desk staff and concierge were extremely pleasant and gave us several tips that proved very helpful (restaurants, getting around, etc.). The lobby and exterior were beautifully decorated and they have a great restaurant and bar. The rooftop bar can not be missed. Great service and one of the best views in town. Our room was indeed, Wonderful. Everything we needed. Very cool bathroom/shower. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. And we had a terrific view. Everything was very efficiently run. All this for quite a reasonable price, especially for a four star hotel. Thanks to all the staff. We will return to the W when we are in DC.
"Hip, yet charming; Best location in downtown DC."
We spent 4 nights there on our first trip to DC in late August. Rooms (though on the small side) were well appointed and modern. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The lobby lounge/bar was very pleasant, and includes a DJ booth that plays vinyl in the afternoon and evening. However, the place to hang out was the Rooftop restaurant / lounge, as it provides a partial open-air view of the White House. Better still, from the same rooftop restaurant, we (including our 6 year old) were witness to numerous Marine One (the President's chopper) take offs and landings during our afternoon lunch on our first day. The location is primo (walking distance to the National Mall). Could not have found a better hotel in all of DC for the price (got a late summer deal that included valet parking as the hotel tends to the luxury side of the spectrum). Book early though.....it fills up quickly.
"Helpful staff made my stay"
I just spent the night at this hotel for a conference. I arrived early and they were busy, but the front desk staff took the time to hunt down a room that was ready at 10:30 AM. That act of kindness made such a difference in my stay! The rooms at the hotel are quite small, but with lots of drawers and decent planning they function well. A Nespresso coffee maker is a nice touch, and the bed was soft if a bit saggy. And Bliss bath products are always nice. The location is quite convenient to the Mall and many DC attractions, and an easy trip in from DCA. I would recommend it as a good (but not cheap) travel base in the city.
"March for DACA & LCLAA"
Kudos to the location of this hotel. We were only 3 Blocks from the White House and AFL-CIO building. It was very modern and most of the staff was very friendly and very Professional. Ronnie brought us in with a great Welcoming and Laughter. We were all smiles! Collins checked us in with his thorough cheerful self. It was a breeze! 'Hule' (our muscle man) took care of us very quickly. We were a group of '11' on different floors, he had all our luggage in the right rooms. Which gave us plenty of time to get to the "Roof Top Cafe". The view of Washington from there was "AMAZING" & INCREDIBLE. The drinks was not my favorite. I am a 'Margarita' person. I have never had or seen a Marqarita made with grapefruits. Yuk!! We did go back up there for the rest of the week. Because we met 'Yousef'! He is the best Mixologist and Coversationist in Hotel on the 1st Floor. Thanks to him we ate at two fantastic restaurants. Mexican & Cuban. We would have gave this hotel 5 Stars, but Housekeeping dropped the ball! I'm really won't put them too much on blast because we already sent our complaints into the office. It really is a Beautiful Hotel with great Staff and Curb side help was Fabulous. Just stay on Housekeeping and you won't be disappointed. Enjoy!
I can't say enough about this hotel. From the doormen to the quick and friendly check in. I booked a Spectacular room, king bed. I was not sure what I was getting as many of the rooms said "city view". Was I surprised when looking out the window and had a view of the White House, albeit the top of it. I was also able to see parts of the National Mall. The girls at the concierge desk were soooo helpful in recommendations for sight seeing and local places to eat. I ate at the rooftop bar and had a great seat. They give guest at the hotel priority seating if there is a waitlist. I was so pleased with my stay I booked an extra night. Right before my flight out I booked a massage at Bliss which was wonderful. There was also free water bottles in your room everyday. If I had to say anything negative was that the bathroom does not offer much privacy, but that was not a big deal to me since I was traveling alone.
