"Beautiful hotel, great view "
Absolutely beautiful hotel! Downstairs living room & bar area is convenient & bar staff was friendly & quick. The POV lounge on the rooftop is nice if you have a table or reserved area. If not, there’s not really anywhere to stand and just mingle or socialize...it gets very crowded. When we arrived at 9:00 pm on a Thursday night, we were told our room wasn’t ready. The staff acted like it was no big deal and offered us free drink tickets. We had been traveling all day and were not dressed nor did we feel like heading up to the bar right away. About 30 minutes later we were given a room key. Minor inconvenience but overall was a great experience and first time in DC! The concierge and another staff member were super helpful on telling us the best places to eat and about the nightlife area.
"Only visited the roof top"
The views from the rooftop are great, you get to see a different side of the White House. Asked the bartender for the house glass of Chardonnay, was dumbfounded when I got the check it was $18! What'!' House glass of wine $18, I wanted to return the glass of wine, but the bar was super full so I decided I would wait until I got back from vacay to make a comment, I feel it was OUTRAGEUS! If you asked me if the price of the wine was worth it, for the view, I would say NO!
"Late, Noisy, and Disappointing "
When arriving an hour past check in for a wedding group, our room was not ready. The only choice we were given was to get dressed in a steamy, small, and body filled spa dressing room for the event. In moments before catching the shuttle we were given our room keys. We rushed to put our items away, only to find we were in the back corner in a handicap room which was not needed. Without time or energy to ask for another room we made our way to the wedding. When arriving back to the hotel we got to our room only to find out we were directly underneath the rooftop bar, POV. Loud music and dancing lasted throughout the night. Shortly after finally falling asleep we were woken to furniture being moved and dragged along the floor above us between the hours or 330-530 am. Not getting much sleep, we headed to check out as soon as possible. To add insult to injury, when we received our invoice we noticed we were charged a tourism and recreation fee. We were told it was customary and that they didn’t know why we weren’t notified of the fee when booking. As residents of a near by city, only staying as part of a wedding group, we found this fee frustrating. To conclude, to expect a certain experience for the cost per night at such an “upscale” hotel, we certainly were disappointed to say the least. It was and will be our only time at the W.
"Convenient location, comfortable rooms"
Very friendly staff and wonderful location. You can see the White House from the roof top bar. I found the rooms to be a bit small, but comfortable and sufficient for my business stay. Within walking distant from great restaurants and eating places. There is also a CVS around the corner for snacks and water. The hotel provided water bottles (free of charge) in room everyday.
"Weekend in Washington "
Good location. Cool lobby. Small rooms, nothing special. Visited twice Bliss Spa located at the hotel, very good, can highly recommend. Rooftop bar is very nice with fantastic view, you look right at the White House. We visited the hotels restaurant and bar at street level, nice staff and good service, perfect for a drink after sightseeing, food ok.
