Room was quite small. Location was good. Service was excellent.Comment of T. Tam , Australia the 2016-01-10
"Difference isn't just in the decor"
Well known for its funky set up, Wanderlust keeps on track with this theme in other ways. Non alcoholic mini bar that contains juice coke and water is not charged for, coffee in room via a coffee pod set up, and use of a phone for calls, maps and google all over Singapore are nice touches. Rooms are clean, but on the more economic side as far as space is concerned. Staff run the gamut from disinterested to very helpful, but always come through. Best part is the location which launches you straight into Little India the second you step outside the door. Recommended 😊
"Design over convenience"
Stayed here 4 nights in July - the first room we got smelled "moist/moldy" and we were able to change it, which was good. The rooms, they are quirky and something different, true - but... In the rooms that we stayed in there was no shelf space, so we had to live out of suitcases (or try to fit our stuff at the bench). Also there were small weird things, for instance the shower door opened to the room, so after the shower condesed steam dripped straight to wooden floor (so you had to pay attention to sweeping floors by yourself), wonder if this was the cause behind the "moist" smell in the 1st room they offered us' There was also some kind of plumbing issue during our stay, the water was cut off for the last 1,5 days of our stay, so cold shower with no water pressure before heading to the airport was waiting us before checkout. The staff didn't inform the guests about the situation in our opinion, we had to go and ask seperate times "what's going on" - so there's improvement to be made in communication. The staff compensated us with free ride to airport though, which was good! The housekeeping staff was great, they were always smiling - the rest of the staff was ok as well. Breakfast was quite basic, but it got the day going. Free drinks at the room were great plus, also the location was good (4 min walk to Rochor MRT station).
"Great location with very interesting design"
This is located in a great location in the rim of Bugis, about 5-7 mins walk from the station. There are plenty to eat around here. Great food right along the lane. hotel has very interesting designs - depicting the old Singapore but in a boutique way. Rooms are well equipped with every feature - including a free inclusive mini bar. Services is good, though Platinum SPG status and benefit are not recognized here in a Member Design hotel.
"Unique hotel in the heart of of India town"
Discovered this boutique hotel when booking through the SPG website-yes Starwood points. This small boutique hotel is a unique find in the heart of India town. The room we stayed for one night was a bright red walled room, black tiled floor , kind of a funky spa feel, with the bed up some tiled steps that almost looked like an old hot tub. If you have issues with climbing or want access to both sides of the bed, this wouldn't work for you. Our room had a U2 theme. A nice bar area on the first floor. Reasonably priced with close proximity to the tram and the rest of India town.
"Solid choice for a short city stay "
Stayed here because of the lonely planet recommendation. Pros - central location close to metro station (7min walk) - clean, modern interior decor more suited to younger travellers (some quirky things like steps to access bed) - very comfy bed - free soft drinks in mini bar - interesting quirky features in reception area ; table football, carp fish pond, barber chairs in the lobby -helpful reception team - wifi phone included which is very useful to have a portable wifi hotspot - hotel seems secure with room keys needed for lift operation - free soft drinks in the mini bar - good value Cons - rooms are quite small which are strangely and awkwardly laid out as part of a design statement (love or hate it) - bed feels like it's part of the shower as the same tiles are used - breakfast is limited but cooked fresh, communal coffee pot brewed and left on a warming plate for hours not fresh - cappuccino or a fresh coffee is circa $6 (rip off) - breakfast is limited to a menu, tried most options. Most are bland in taste and lack any seasoning or flavour. Avocado could be mixed with lime or chilli for example to lift the flavour rather than one quarter of avocado just put on the plate without any afterthought. Conclusion Good for a couple of nights stay for visiting Singapore on a short stay. With a Longer stays the novelty of the room may start to wear off and you might get frustrated with the layout and small space. Rooms suitable for couples or friends that know each mother well due to lack of privacy. Would recommend due to location, cleanliness, modern feel and extra perks like wifi phone etc. Solid choice for a short city stay, represents good value for money.
