Room was quite small. Location was good. Service was excellent.Comment of T. Tam , Australia the 2016-01-10
"Cool rooms but not so keen on the steep ladder to the bed!"
We were upgraded to the typewriter room on arrival and whilst very cool, personally for us the very steep ladder to the mezzanine bed was a bit impractical. The hotel itself is really lovely, great bar and staff that couldn't be more helpful. The smart phone you get in the room is a great touch as well, albeit ours was a little temperamental at times! The location was a great one if you're happy to get around on the MRT, it's a little bit of walk to the main 'touristy' places if you're not but still manageable if you wear the right shoes! Overall pretty good value for an unusual boutique hotel in what is a very expensive city.
I booked the typewriter room for my partner to celebrate her birthday and I must say, the room is AWESOME! The decor is perfect and definitely instagram-worthy! Bed is comfortable and the room is very clean! Breakfast at the restaurant was also fantastic and I will definitely recommend Wanderlust for staycation and special occasions.
"Noisy & Tiny Room"
Stayed here for 4 nights in a Pantone room (decorated in Easyjet Orange). Room was one of the smallest my wife and I had ever stayed in. There was a bed which was across the room so the only way the person on the window side could get out is to climb over the other. Then there is a toilet cubicle, then a basin, then a shower cubicle then a wardrobe/minibar/safe/tea & coffee area all in one. There is no where to put anything (like draws/shelves) so lived out of the suitcases, there is wardrobe which has a shelf halfway up but that has the kettle/coffee maker so you have to take any clothes out to boil the kettle as they end up damp from the steam. Room we had was on the 2nd floor and over looked the side street unfortunately the other side of the side street was a cafe which had outside seating (including a table right under our window) that produced a lot of noise until abut 3 am and then start again about 6am. The hotel obviously aware of this and do provide earplugs but they were not that effective. On the positive side did like the location in Little India, place had a good buzz and was near Metro and lots of cafes/restaurants/bars. It was about 30 mins walk to Marina.
"Service 5 - Amenities 4"
We stayed at the Wonderlust hotel from October 3 to October 5, 2017. We stayed in the black spaceship room, number 402. It was a very cool room, with an upstairs loft and a very large bathtub. At night, you could leave the “star lights” on, so when you looked up it looked like you were sleeping in outerspace. The hotel had everything we needed, And it was located in a very convenient area of little India. We happen to be there for the pre-celebration/prepping of Deepavali. The room came with breakfast every morning, which was limited, but sufficient. Overall, we were pleased with the Wonderlust hotel, and we would absolutely stay again.
"I wouldn't stay here again"
Only booked this property because it was part of SPG and was thoroughly disappointed. Booked the mono room because i have read how small the pantone room is, but the mono room (advertised as 20sqm on their website) still sucked. There was barely any space. The level 2 corridor smelt of mildew and the same smell perpetuated into the room. It was so bad, it made the stay miserable. The hotel needs to invest in a dehumidifier badly. Also housekeeping starts knocking on your door early in the morning to check when the guest is checking out. Is there no coordination between front desk and house keeping' Are we still living in the medieval age' Doors are not soundproof, so expect to hear vacuum and loud chatters by housekeeping staff from 9am onwards. Considering the price point, head over to the Four Points, Hilton Garden Inn or Holiday Inn Expresses
