"Don't Stay Here- Take Your Money and Stay Someplace Nice"
I chose this hotel because it was a Hyatt and because of its location. It was a total waste of money. Its next-door to the louvre, but on a loud, dirty, smelly street. If you walk 10 minutes away, you can stay on a clean, quiet street. The bathroom was divided into two rooms: toilet in one that was literally the size of an upright coffin, and the tub/sink in the other. The tub/sink was completely outdated and looked like something from the 1940s. It was not remotely noise proof, so we could not only hear every car that drove past, but all our neighbors as well. If you're going to stay in this area, find a cheaper hotel so you're not wasting your money, or go spend your money at another hotel further away. Also, its under construction (and has been for some time) so normal amenities like the gym are closed. The staff, however, is very nice.
3 hours before leaving for the airport on our mother/daughter trip to England and France from Australia we were told our 5 months ahead, 9 night booking for Hotel du Louvre Paris was no longer available - no apologies, no reason. After multiple phone calls and emails we found out they were having renovations. Just be wary booking this hotel as our holiday start was marred with disappointment and anxiety. Especially being notified at such a late date and with an imminent 24 hour flight. If wondering - today we are finally settling into another Paris hotel. Daughter and I are looking at this as weathering hardships just makes us stronger. Happy holidays and happy 2018 New Year everyone.
"Old and under renovation"
Supposed to be a Hyatt however it's nothing like an old beat up parisian hotel going under a massive renovation. the only thing good is the location and that's really the only one. prefer to stay at Hyatt Madelaine or Park Hyatt Vendome.
"Nice but Outdated"
We were here over the summer for a night. The hotel is certainly very nice, and looks very historic. The location is amazing, right by the Louvre. However, the rooms are in dire need of an update. They were beginning renovations when we got there, so I presume this issue will be fixed once that's done. Still, it is very nice. I'd go back, but would prefer to wait until the renovations are complete.
"Excellent hotel in a great location"
My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights before heading to Nice. It is an excellent old hotel with all of the charm you would want in a hotel in this part of town. The staff were all excellent, especially Daniella who provided amazing customer service and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked through the doors. Yes, the hotel is under renovation. But we were never disturbed by the work and you can't beat the location or service from this hotel. I hope they retain the charm of this beautiful hotel even after the renovation is complete. I would definitely stay here in the future.
