Very nice hotel right next to the Louvre! The staff was awesome. They arranged transportation, provided tickets, room service, no task to big or too small, printed our boarding passes for our next flight, you name it..... the breakfast was fitting of a five star hotel! I should have done more homework on our room. Extra beds for executive rooms only' I was confused and my daughter was pissed she didn’t have her own space. No sofa or separated area in a huge beautiful room. I tried to get another room just for her but they were all booked. We made due and ended up having a great stay.
"Great staff, helped when help was needed most"
The hotel is in a great location, just across the street from the Louvre Museum. It is not a new building, but if you like vintage (but immaculately preserved) buildings, this should be your cup if tea. The hotel is also being renovated it and it should be even nicer than it is now. As regards the usual stuff -- the room was kept immaculately clean and the breakfast was quite nice. Where this hotel really shines, is its superb staff. I forgot my wedding ring and some other important items in my room when I left in the morning. I called the staff and they quickly called me back upon locating the items. I returned to the hotel in the evening to pick up the items. I was in a big hurry to catch the last train and the staff literally ran to deliver the items to me in an instant. I could not thank them enough for the assistance in my moment of trouble. I recommend this superb hotel to everybody and will return.
"Less than welcoming "
We had requested an early check in as our 10 hour flight arrived early we were exhausted and more than happy to pay extra. After a quick espresso and bakery items in the restaurant, also terribly overpriced, the check-in clerk pointed to ratty makeshift lounge area and instructed us that we could wait there. Uncomfortable and exhausted we waited for FOUR hours. Another clerk came to work and was very accommodating things seemed better and she apologized, made excuses, but got us a room and sent a wonderful bottle of champagne. Things seemed better until we lay down and the inviting king size bed was actually two twin mattresses pushed together. The bed was terrible and many of the staff were rude. The coffee bar was not restocked daily. Not 5 stars. Good location.
"Great location and good room but renovations spoil it for now"
We stayed at the Hotel du Louvre using Hyatt points for its location. The location across the Louvre is ideal and the room was fine and as expected for the standard of hotel. I would, however, avoid the hotel during the renovations until 2018 as the facilities are now minimal and the common areas non-existent. the plan indicates it will be fabulous when completed. Also, a breakfast brunch at €30 per person is excessive so we went instead on the quais de la Seine where we had croissants and coffee for €6 for the two of us which was fantastic with a clear view of the Ile de la Cite
"Great Service and Old World Charm in the Heart of Paris"
Staying at this historic hotel is the best part of our visit to Paris and here is why. Location - The hotel is right across from the Louvre. From our room balcony we can see the see tour groups rushing through the gates to palace grounds. There is a metro stop right next to the building as well. Service - The staff really made us feel at home. They all know us by name. The room maids always kept us hydrated with Avian water. The waiters at the breakfast restaurant remembers our preferred morning brew. And the concierges, they knew everything! Historic building - The hotel itself is a marvel. We loved taking the elevator. It was like traveling in time. The marble stairs and statue at the lobby were both time pieces. My favorite place is the little library/reading area on the second floor overlooking the lobby. There were great kids books there. I hope I will be back soon!
