I stayed in this hotel a week ago, for a couple of nights.I was celebrating with my husband 15 years of marriage.I loved the hotel, the staff was very friendly, the person from the reception offered me a rose, when I received!! They didn't know that we were celebrating, but they were so kind and I felt special! The room was very cosy and clean, with a nice room perfume, the free minibar is excellent and I loved the cosmetic products from the bathroom that were Just Cavalli! I felt the Milanese style! Before we arrive, I read on Internet reviews that if you have a room with street view is not so quiet. We have a nice room to the street, but it was ok, I slept very well! The hotel has a very good location, just a step from the Metro station and there are a lot of shops around, because it is situated on Corso Buenos Aires. I strongly recommend this hotel!
I enjoyed my stay to the fullest! Very nice and attentive staff, super clean rooms, delicious breakfast and relaxing spa. Close to the city center. I was particularly impressed by the restaurant staff, which remembered on the day two, who kind of drinks we prefer for breakfast. Make you feel special. Well connected: next to the hotel there are multiple tram stops, subway station and nice big park. Go for it!
"Good price tourist hotel at good location"
We stayed 3 nights in this hotel during our Milan city trip with our 2 early twenties sons. Positive: price, location, breakfast, lobby Negative: rooms are rather small and not sound proof (you can hear the neighbours talking and the sound of the metro), but not so loud that it wakes you up.
"Our Visit to Milan"
We received the warmest of welcomes from the staff of Worldhotel Cristoforo Colombo. Our room was spacious, very clean and came with a well stacked complementary mini bar as part of the deal we signed up for. The breakfast room is beautifully styled and the food itself fresh, plentiful and well-varied. Freshly squeezed orange juice is always a healthy addition we seek out. I personally appreciated the soya cappuccinos as I am lactose-intolerant. Also loved the stylish, brand-name, quality complementary personal hygiene pack and beautifully presented confectionary gift. Well done Worldhotel for your keen attention to detail, exceptional generosity and warm hospitality. We will choose to stay here again.
Very disappointed with my stay at this hotel and no doubt will many future visitors. I asked if we could have a quiet room. Upon arrival we were presented with an “upgrade”. We went to the room and while it looked quite nice (high ceilings, balcony, big bed) it was facing the main road. While it says on the hotel website that rooms are soundproofed, the traffic noise was audible when we first walked into the room. I therefore politely declined and asked for a room in the courtyard or back of the building. We were then taken to a dingy room on the first floor which had a window but when I looked out of it there was a wall directly in front. There was little natural light in the room, however I took it as I thought it would be quiet. I had the poorest night sleep as the lift which was directly outside the room went up and down about 100 times during the night. The cheap plasterboard partition walls put in place to create more rooms in the hotel allowed me to hear my neighbors toilet and showering habits. When I went down for breakfast the next day, me and my wife were turned away as we were told breakfast was not included. I had specifically asked at check in (twice and my wife also heard) if breakfast was included and we were told it was. We were also specifically told the valet parking was EUR 25 per day. As we liked Milan we decided to stay one extra night. We paid 150 for Sunday but for Monday it would be 230 with breakfast. We asked if we could move room and rather than hear the toilet and lift noise, they moved me to a less nice room at the front of the building again. What a mistake to make. The traffic was quiet till about 5am but I lay in bed for 3 hours listening to the scores of scooters, ambulances and Italien drivers roaring past the hotel. The walls were even thinner in this room and you could clearly hear the conversation in the next room as well as the water and toilet flushing etc. I went down after a second nights poor sleep and was embarrassingly turned away from breakfast again. When I complained at the front desk, they did however include it. The only positive was the massage which was very good. When I went to check out, I was a little surprised to get a bill for over 300 euros for the extra night and the parking. As I parked for an extra day, the daily rate was for some reason more expensive and the hotel room was also a little more. I couldn’t be bothered to argue as I’m sick and tired complaining on my holiday and I just asked to leave the hotel. They handed me the key to my Mercedes, but hold on I don’t have a mercedes, I have a bmw so I had a slight amount of stress wondering where my car was. It arrived eventually and while this wasn’t something to really complain about, the noise levels and poor quality construction of the hotel are certainly something to make other travelers aware of. Also, while it is well located on a main shopping street, next time I’d stay more in the center to avoid the 20 minute walk and find somewhere not plagued with traffic and people noise.
