"Great views "
Stayed here for 3 nights as part of a tour. The room we had over looked a motor way which wasnt great but beyond that we could look out over the river and the sun rises are amazing. Breakfast was a large buffet selection something for everyone. Bathroom was huge had a bath with a tv however our one did not work but was not to fused . Shower and toilet seperated in the bathroom also which was handy. Large walk in closet and also a writers desk. The blinds took a bit to work out as they open and closed themselves but occasionally didnt always open so had to do with controls hidden behind blinds. Over all a nice clean tidy room.
"Beautiful Hotel with Spacious Rooms"
I stayed here during a Sinorama Tour of China. It is a 4 or 5 star hotel that's quite beautiful. The rooms are spacious with lots of marble in the bathroom. As with most of the China upscale hotels, the lobby is gorgeous. Notes for Westerners: There are lots of TV channels, all are Chinese. The hotel supplies 2 bottles of drinking water per couple. When you need more buy it off-site from a grocery store- hotel rates are very expensive (although convenient). Breakfast was included in our stay and was lovely. Lots of hot and cold choices in a large dining area. We also found the room quite warm (for Canadians) and couldn't cool the room with the air conditioning. This is a common problem as the rooms don't seem to be cooled below 23C which is fine for Asians but a bit warmer than what Canadians are used to.
Stayed here as part of nexus last 2 days china tour. Rooms are of good size and bathrooms are also good, a little bit of traffic noise if facing the highway. Breakfast was good and for a buffet style was fairly relaxing Added bonus was that sufficient staff spoke English to be able to assist you.
"Dirty poor service hotel - Nexus Holiday Tour"
We stayed here for our last 2 nights in Shanghai as part of the Nexus China Discovery tour. The Hotel looks flash and nice. But looking at it closely the room was very dirty and so was the buffet restaurant and kitchen. The food was appalling in the buffet everything cold and poorly restocked. Asking to get our luggage transferred from our room to the lobby was impossible. I ended up doing it myself. Our bar fridge was locked making us feel untrusted
"Hotel Nice Restaurant Poor"
Stayed here for two nights while touring eastern China. Location is close to a variety of little restaurants and a shopping mall. Room was spacious with a nice bathroom with tub, shower, and separate toilet. There was a tv above the tub but we could not get it to tune in anything. Shower was large with hosed nozzle and also an excellent rain head. Bed comfy. Some water damage on wall beneath sprinkler. Large window with nice view and blackout curtains. Elevators worked quickly. Restaurant was poor. Breakfast buffet too small for number of people with long lines at number of stations. A dinner buffet was about $35 Cdn. Ordering off the menu was next to impossible. First, you would think that a restaurant which caters to foreign tourists would make sure wait staff would have rudimentary skills. Also, food would come out at various times with people at the same table receiving meals over 20 minutes after others. Overpriced and terribly disjointed. Recommend hotel but not for dining.
