"Great staff, excellent location"
The staff was attentive and nice (not very usual in Italy), all bilingual and professional and they even acknowledged that it was my birthday and they made me feel great. They gave me a complimentary drink at the bar. Very nice gesture. The hotel is very modern inside with excellent facilities. I only wished for a more authentic Italian breakfast or something to improve it. It was OK but with a lot of sweets and not many local or interesting options but overall it is OK. Besides that, I will definitely return to this hotel once I am in Florence again.
"Great position but disappointing in a few ways"
The position is absolutely great, a couple of minutes walking to Piazza della Signoria, Piazza della Repubblica, Ponte Vecchio and the Duomo. Hotel staff is extremely nice, friendly, smiling and ready to help. The room was so dated and not in terms of furniture (as it was quite modern) but in terms of facilities and functioning. Our TV was very small. There are no toiletries a part from one little shower/shampoo gel and a shower cup per person, that's it. The bathrooms really need to be refurbished (shower door did not close - but they sort of fixed it - we had problems with hot water coming from the tap and there were scratches all over the walls). Pillows were awful. There was dust everywhere in the room, which I am allergic to, and after the first night spent with a terrible dust allergy fever, I asked them to properly clean my room, which they did. Last but not least, they do need to clean the elevator!
"Excellent Service, Central Location"
The staff at this hotel are excellent. From the greeting at my arrival to the breakfast box on my early morning departure, the staff helped me navigate the city, set up advance ticket bookings, and enabled me make the most of my visit. The hotel itself is unique. The walls are decorated with artwork (as the name of the hotel suggests), and the lobby is full of unusual furniture. The atmosphere is unlike any hotel I have ever stayed at. My room was a single, so it was not large, nor did I expect it to be. But, it was ample for a single person travelling. It was clean, and the shower (by European standards) was large (not cramming into some upright coffin). The location is just east of the main streets of Florence, withing easy walking distance of all sights, restaurants, and whatever else takes you to Florence. I highly recommend staying here.
What a beautiful hotel-clean, comfortable, spacious room. The staff was magnificent, helpful, knowledgeable, courteous. Very accommodating! They helped us arrange all of our excursions, provided helpful assistance and valuable tips. We were visiting our daughter and the staff allowed our daughter and her friend use of the spa-which was amazing in itself!. Very relaxing at the end of a busy day-hot tub, sauna, and steam room- just fabulous!! Location was great!! About a 10 minute walk from in town. Near everything!!! Breakfast each morning was fantastic! Assortment of pastries, eggs, Italian meats, even pizza! Not to mention the espresso and cappuccino!!
"Lovely hotel but in need of some attention"
I stayed here for 3 nights in July and had a lovely experience. The room was clean and comfortable and the facilities were adequate. The location of the hotel was also great - near to the centre and the main attractions. The breakfast was basic but fine (the coffee was surprisingly good despite coming from a self service machine). As I mentioned in the title - it could do with a bit of TLC as it's looking a bit tired in places, and if they do renovate PLEASE do away with the ridiculous shallow glass bathroom sink, which, whilst it may look nice to some people, is absolutely impractical - I had to wear a towel as a bib to stop water splashing all over me when I brushed my teeth (true story). On the whole, a quirky and cool hotel with friendly staff.
