"Loved our 10 night holiday in paradise"
We loved this hotel and had a fabulous holiday.Find it difficult to understand why some people make such unrealistic negative comments - I can only assume they are very picky. Reading everyone else's reviews we would agree with all the positives - the beach to us brits is paradise - white sand, turquoise sea and blue sky and a pleasure to lie on a sunbed and relax. I loved the buffet breakfast, some staff in there do lack smiles but service was always prompt, attentive and courteous. The smoothy bar where you have your choice of smoothies made in front of you from a good selection of fruit etc at breakfast was an excellent touch. Quality food in both Cilantro and Nikkei. The best service we received was from Bianca in Cilantro, she was excellent, along with a young man who was quite new ( apologies for spelling his name incorrectly but possibly Garsham) both worked very hard, were very polite and attentive. The tapas bar was excellent too and the market place for lunch and evening buffet we thought had a great choice of food. Our room on the 7th floor west wing was spacious, bed and bathroom fine, house keeping do an excellent job, the balcony as per other reviews was triangular so felt small but side sea view was acceptable having not paid for anything other. Gym was fine for what we wanted, agree a rowing machine would be a welcome addition. Another lovely touch was a bottle of sparkling wine and strawberries for our wedding anniversary which appeared in our room and was a very kind gesture. The only thing we'd agree with other reviews is our corridor from 1st impressions looked dated but after a day of walking along it you got used to it and you easily forgot that. So, in summary we miss our fantastic holiday, it was a pleasure to have experienced everything this hotel provided and we will be back.
"The level beach was worth the upgrade"
I read a ton of reviews before booking my stay, so I thought I'd add my two cents for others considering this resort. The first thing I want to mention is that for us, the level upgrade was worth the beach by itself. When I go on vacation, unless I'm with a large group, I prefer to relax and not deal with a ton of other people. The level beach was private with great cabanas and service. They could use additional people on the beach providing service, but not for lack of trying. The guys on the beach are going non stop in the hot sun and doing their best to accommodate everyone... Something we learned after being there a couple days, if the towels are rolled up on the chairs or cabanas they are not taken. The staff puts those out there every morning for the guests. Food at the Japanese place was by far the best. Giovanni was awesome. We ate there twice. The food at Aqua was ok and the Tappas bar was great. However, when you book your reservations be cautious of time. Twice I tried to change us to a later reservation and couldn't because they were booked. This was frustrating considering the restaraunts weren't that busy, probably due to people skipping their reservations. The room was decent, we were on the 9th floor and the view was amazing. But there was a strange, musty smell that never went away. Our room was cleaned everyday though and it always looked great.
"First trip to the Bahamas"
My boyfriend and I stayed at the Melia Nassau All Inclusive resort May 19th through May 22nd. Overall we were very satisfied with our stay here and would stay here again. We did The Level experience and feel it was worth the extra money. The staff here was very nice and helpful. Friendly and welcoming too. The room was well decorated and clean. We had a ocean view room on the 8th floor. The food was good. Breakfast was great at O'Grille for the Level guests. The food at Cilantro was excellent we enjoyed it best and Aqua was great too. We did not particularly care for Nikkei at all!! The Level beach area was great we typically could get a place to lay out and it was less crowded than the regular beach. The nightly entertainment at the hotel each night was great as well. We really enjoyed it!! Bahamian night with singer and dancers, Latin night, and also a live vocalist. Overall we had a great experience and would definitely stay at the Melia again.
The Melia Hotel was a beautiful hotel to stay in. The staff were very friendly and we all felt very safe. There were some disappointments but the overall experience was a great one! I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to the Bahamas and look forward to another visit.
My wife and I had a great time and will be coming back for another stay. We like the Bahamas and their were a few things we missed doing, next time. I don't like a bunch of surveys a few words if needed and more on. Please shorten your surveys because and I am sure people of aged are not doing them.
