"Amazing Vacation, Very friendly staff."
By far the best vacation and resort I've been to yet, and I've been to most islands in the Caribbean. Food was awesome, both at the restaurants and buffet and service was fantastic. Everyone at the Melia was super friendly and always willing to lend a helping hand - an extra shout out to the bar server upstairs at the Melia Dicienzo, and he always had a drink ready for me!!!! Honestly my only complaint would be the status of the older rooms, the AC filter was a little dirty and our hot water in the sink was out, but we did not miss it. Already looking for my next vacation back in Nassau and at the Melia.
"We enjoyed our visit!"
My son and I visited for 5 nights, as this was the site for a college fair in which I was participating. We were disappointed that the room refrigerator did not work and that the drain in the shower was exceedingly slow. However, those were not deal breakers. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are relatively clean. The beach area is phenomenal. It is beautiful, and there are some water activities available, provided the water is not too rough. The reservation requirement only worked on one date for us, because I was working during the hours of 10 through 5 when reservations are made. The first day, we did not make reservations, because we wanted to try a restaurant that did not require one. There was one server who was excellent, and he works at Esta Vida. His name may have been Jamaal. He provided superior service and was attentive as well as giving recommendations. Other places, the servers are not as service oriented as we are accustomed to at home. If you make reservations at Asian Fusion, the food is good, but the wait time for service and food is lengthy. There is a Starbucks in the lobby. The stores on site are overpriced. My son was about to purchase a bag of pretzels and the cashier warned them they are $8.95. A travel size tube of hair gel was $7.95. Market Place buffet is always good, has plenty of options, and does not have a wait.
Melia does a good job overall. Food was good, hotel was clean, location beside Baha Mar is good. Considering we stayed at this hotel to dive at Stuart Coves the location / distance is good. Overall if you keep your expectations reasonable you will not be dissapponted.
"Vacation with friends"
Just got back from a 6 night vacation to the Melia Nassau Resort. This resort is beautiful and clean, the rooms are clean, and the food and drinks are tasty. One of the couples with us had issues with a room so they were moved to another and was given a free upgrade to an Ocean View room. Christopher, one of the front doorman's was the best! He took take of everything that we needed. All of our bartenders were great - can't remember each of their names - but they always knew what we were drinking and would have them ready when they saw us coming. As far as dining experiences - the Neikki Asian restaurant, Estavida lounge, the buffet and the O'Grille outside were our favorites. The Cilantro Mexican Restaurant was ok but not the best. The Aqua Italian restaurant was closed for remodeling so we didn't get to try that one. If you are looking to book excursions I would suggest booking through an outside vendor as prices at the hotel are outrageously HIGH! I would also suggest taking a sunset dinner cruise on a catamaran - we booked this before we left for vacation and it was amazing!!! Our overall experience was perfect. We would definitely book another trip and stay at the Melia Nassau Resort.
Booked a beach front room at the Meliá and it was beautiful. Though I was there for a birthday, I loved the fact that the resort offered things for couples and families. I will be returning for sure ❤️
