We stayed for 3 nights and hugely enjoyed our stay. All the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The hotel was once an old mill and has great atmosphere with many attractive features and furnishings. We liked the setting by the river and our room had a lovely view of the river and the hills beyond. The hotel also has a good pool and we made use of the free shuttle service into the centre of Florence. This is a hotel we would certainly recommend.
"Quiet spot for Florence"
Really lovely hotel on the banks of the river. Lovely gardens and pool. Super setting, perfect after busy sightseeing day. Quite quirky as not a purpose built hotel. Free shuttle into town centre 15 mins approx. Overall we liked it a lot.
We stayed at Mulino for 3 nights, 2 adults and our baby. The stay was most enjoyable! The staff are extremely lovely and so helpful. Our room overlooked the river and pool and was beautiful. The breakfast was delicious and offered a huge variety of hot and cold options. We drove to Florence so the free hotel parking was fantastic, secure and under cover. We used the free shuttle into the city most days which was great. There are not a lot of restaurants in the area, however the restaurant in the hotel was nice. The grassed area and pool were stunning and would be lovely to go for a swim if it was summer. If you don't mind being 15min out of the city I highly recommend this hotel.
"Second visit was great, but sticker shock in the bar!"
We came back to this hotel after a two year interval, everything was as good as we remembered. Beautiful restoration, friendly staff, great location. Just one downer, on the first evening we sat in the bar and ordered two Aperol Spritz. These drinks, found everywhere in Italy, vary from 3 Euro in a quiet bar to 6 Euro in a popular spot or upscale restaurant. Imagine our surprise when we were charged 12 Euro EACH! We decided then and there that an evening meal would be far beyond our budget!
"Good place to stay but not near city center or points of interest"
This is a good property with an extremely friendly staff (Serena at check in was so accommodating). The included breakfast is awesome too. However, we rushed our reservations and didn't realize how far this hotel was from Florence city center. This location is quite a walk from the nearest bus stop and in our case train stop. That being said, if you were driving into Florence with a car, say from a trip through Tuscany, this would be a great spot. Free parking and the free shuttle into town is great. We were just traveling from Hawaii and was hoping for a more centrally located hotel. Again we didn't do enough research so that's on us. Cabs from city center to hotel is around 25 euro and takes about 15-20 minutes. Next time we visit we will stay at their other property, Plaza Hotel Lucchesi, which is where the shuttle drops you off in town. This is a good, clean hotel with beautiful views, definitely worth consideration if you are driving into Florence.
