"A besoin d'être raffinement"
Cet hôtel a réouvert ses portes en juillet 2017 après une importante rénovation. La chambre faisait sur le 16 e étage, et c'était un peu trop chaud, je n'ai jamais marché sous 74 degrés f. Le restaurant de l'hôtel était assez cher par rapport à la qualité de la nourriture servie. Le personnel était toujours bien organisé. Je suis sûr que la direction pourrait faire ces problèmes dans plusieurs mois.
"Lovely hotel and staff but perhaps opened too early'"
We stayed at this hotel as part of a business trip. We arrived early Saturday morning after a lengthy flight. Check in was smooth, the room, which was brand new, was rather warm. We tried to order some room service upon arrival (pizza) but were told they were out. Ultimately we ordered apples and water. The service we received from the concierge on the gold floor was excellent, several good restaurants were recommended and reserved for us. The staff had excellent knowledge of the local area and were helpful with our requests. We particularly appreciated Jason, Karine, Leblanc and Shamsu, each of them were friendly and helpful and seemed to go above and beyond the norm. By our departure date, despite our thermostat being nearly at the lowest setting possible, the a/c still wasn't able to keep up. The public areas were clean and well kept, although at one point the elevator opened up at I believe it was the 8th floor and it was filled with boxes and equipment. Sights like that and hearing stories of bathroom woes from colleagues made me wonder if the hotel opened too early. However, we would stay here again for the service and cross our fingers that the a/c works.
"Great Fairmont Hotel"
I had stayed at the Queen Elizabeth several times but this was the first time since the hotel was renovated. I liked the updating to the rooms and the restaurant. All of the staff was very helpful and friendly.
"Concierge needs retraining"
Stayed here on business trip. New lobby, room with new furniture but no fridge, small bathroom. Check-in was quick because the hotel was not full. Hotel just reopened July 10, no waiting in line at front desk. However, no ice water pitcher near the front desk like the old Fairmont. The concierge girl told me to dial service from my room for a bottle of water or go to the coffee bar. How inconvenient ! She needs to be retrained to provide better service. At Hilton or Embassy Suites, I get 2 bottles of water at check-in. At Fairmont, dial service from your room to get a cold bottle of water or buy at the coffee bar. A mini fridge can be requested to your room at $25 day. Fairmont Montreal gets an F for service. Will not stay here again.
"Still A Classy Lady"
We stayed as guests and also attended a trade show at this newly renovated (and recently re-opened) hotel. Lots of amenities and in a great location. Staff in all service areas are welcoming and very helpful. Parts of the hotel still need some finishing touches to compliment this very contemporary hotel - feels like the designers are not quite finished with it - needs some "warming up" or a dash of character. Would recommend elevators stay a little longer when they are arrive at all levels - sometimes they are difficult "to catch".
