Situation
Construit à l’origine comme un complexe industriel dans les années 1950,l’hôtel est devenu un centre culturel et artistique en 1995. La zone est à
présent appelé la Dashanzi Art District (ou DAD, Quartier des Arts Dashanzi).
Cette zone artistique, d’une superficie de 0,6 km² borde la Rue Jiuxiangiao à l’ouest et le chemin de fer Beijing-Baotou à l’est. La Jiangtai Road est juste au sud de l’hôtel et la Jiuxianqiao au nord. Aujourd’hui un important centre de la culture et de l’art chinois, le Beijing 789 Art Zone est une destination célèbre pour les industries créatives comme la mode et l’architecture.
